The Conveyancing Foundation: its foundation and development
The Conveyancing Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation established by Convey Law to help companies working in the conveyancing, legal and property industries raise awareness and funds for their chosen charities.
Since its inception, the Foundation through Convey Law has raised nearly £1 million for charity, primarily through the simple mechanism of its innovative Charity Lotto.
Clients of Convey Law are asked if they would like to make a £10 donation at the end of their transaction which goes to the Foundation. In return, they have the chance to win £500 towards their legal fees.
The Foundation also works in partnership with other conveyancing, legal and property charities and organisations such as LawCare and Agents Together to raise awareness of issues affecting those working within those industries.
In 2021, it launched its high profile ‘Be Kind We Care’ initiative to raise awareness of and support those in the conveyancing, legal and property worlds struggling with stress and mental health issues.
The initiative was conceived after the organisation became aware of record levels of stress within the industries triggered by the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, the Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday and the surge in the property market caused by those wishing to relocate.
‘Be Kind We Care’ provides a resource hub of practical support and advice for those who need help and also holds regular webinars to give tips and techniques on how to overcome mental health issues and boost wellbeing.
The Foundation also raises money through sponsorship of its charitable aims. Its sponsors include Thirdfort, Conveyancing Data Services Ltd, Redbrick Solutions and the Conveyancing Academy.
